Classic Face Accessories Incorrectly Raised to 50R$ Prices

On January 31st, the price of all cheap UGC face accessories were raised to 50R$ to line up with the new price floor. Some creators were abusing the price floor difference between hats, hair, and face items by uploading everything as a face accessory and undercutting other creators. However, while Roblox was raising the prices of pre-existing UGC face accessories, this platform-wide change also affected Roblox’s own face accessories.

Is it not unfair for Roblox to be able to price their accessories lower than creators? I think that having consistency is better.

Maybe it’s unfair in the same way that Roblox is able to sell dozens of free accessories, clothing, characters, hair styles, and emotes in limitless supply while UGC creators can’t, but these are restricted to a select handful of items which any creator is able to view. The vast amount of options that UGC offers has far outweighed what Roblox has released, and will easily survive regardless of whether a few legacy items from a decade ago dip below the price floor.

Unfortunately this isn’t a mistake, instead of roblox lowering the fee for UGC they decided to just raise the base price and do the same for their accessories (not fully sure the reason for their accessories being raised tho)

How do you know this change isn’t a mistake if you don’t know the reason?

I guess that Ben Franklin forgot about wanton price increases when he wrote about “death and taxes,” for if he were living in today’s age, he most certainly would have mentioned it! I bet they will start price-gouging us for the air we breathe sometime soon, too…

The update was shared in a private server with UGC creators (BECAUSE THEY KNOW WE DON’T WANT THIS!) they are also planning on making it so prices flucuate based on other factors (most likely demand)

You’re all good, thanks for the response! There is one important update to this issue since I opened this report a couple weeks back though. Looks like this issue has been extended to other item types such as hats, hair, and emotes. For example, the Crimson Shaggy 2.0 has always been two robux until today’s bump up to fifty. This might relate to the Dynamic Price Floor changes that were previously announced, but I wouldn’t know for sure.

Will the items be restored to their original prices? Making all of these items 50 Robux minimum is just absurd…

almost EVERY accessory has an minimum price of 60 robux now. this is like the worst thing ever
