Clicking the youtube connection on this profile downloads a .osdx file?

Go to this user’s profile and click on the YouTube connection

Is this just me?

Expected behavior

Upon clicking the youtube connection, I expect it to redirect me to the youtube page of this user.

This is not a Roblox bug specifically, but the user himself put it as his Youtube account link. It could be patched by blocking the link though.

It’s still a bug though, roblox failing to actually verify if the link under youtube.com is actually a user and not something else

That’s true. All Youtube channel links are in the format of "https://www.youtube.com/@(channel name) "
Roblox could prevent all other Youtube links of being put except channel links with this format. I have also found out that you can put a link of a Youtube shorts video there, however putting a link of a normal Youtube video results in an error.

Not a Roblox bug, not a bug in general. osdx files are used to tell browsers and clients how to use the website as a search engine.

If you read my previous reply, you’d have known that the file wasn’t my concern.

The issue is that you can link shorts (as mentioned by someone else) or you can do that…

You are supposed to link your YouTube channel as a connection to your roblox profile, however roblox doesn’t really verify properly if the connection leads to a valid profile on YouTube.

Stop being stupid.

I replied to the original message where you claimed the redirection to that URL was a bug and not that users can link any youtube URL. At best this is a feature request.

It’s not intended behaviour :skull:
You are supposed to link your YouTube channel, not YouTube shorts or the .osdx file.
That is an oversight the engineers made.
