Client Audio Settings issues megathread

Audio Output Settings do not save on the client, and are reverted constantly upon rejoin

Whenever a user sets up there settings upon joining, the next time they join a new experience/are teleported there settings are reset to the Windows output system default - this is particularly an issue for me since my default audio output for Windows is ten times louder than what I want my game to be; this could be a major issue for people that have issues with loud noises for example and could lead to startling them.

When switching audio devices in the audio output menu more than once quickly for the first time it will glitch

The audio output will remain as whatever the device was originally, even though it’s displaying as the new audio output. You have to press select another device then wait a few seconds and go back to your previous device for it work properly.

Audio Input Settings do not save on the client, and are reverted constantly upon rejoin

Whenever a user sets up there settings upon joining, the next time they join a new experience/are teleported there settings are reset to the Windows input system default. This is a MAJOR ISSUE for privacy reasons, I regularly set my audio-input to my webcam which is muted 24/7 so that Roblox can’t hear any of my audio input - however this regularly resets to my system default of my Logitech XLR microphone which I use to talk on Discord; alot of the time I don’t notice and I’m left speaking in game, see next example as why this is even more of a major issue.

Audio is randomly setting back to default output

I’ve had several instances recently where the audio will just randomly revert back to the default output device while I am playing - without rejoining, dying, respawning or anything for that matter. It will just revert to the system default occasionally whilst I am playing which can be incredibly annoying at times.

Audio Input configuration does not save on the client and are reverted constantly upon rejoin

If a user mutes their mic, this should be saved globally; currently it does not sometimes - it should not be reverted upon re-joining an experience. This is a MAJOR ISSUE for older players - since we can be known to use vulgar language in private discord voice calls, I’ve lost count of the amount of “moderation warnings” I’ve had pop up at the top of my screen because Roblox has ignored my previous settings and I’ve had my mic unmuted by accident and have not intended to filter what I’m saying.

Audio Input/Output Menu Navigation Usability

I am a user who does alot of streaming ontop of game development and playing games. I have a device known as a Wave XLR and before this used a program called Voicemeeter - both add extensive audio input/output devices for giving the user granular control over this sound systems. This segment should probably be a feature request - though its also a usability issue at heart, but I do not have access that part of the DevForum anyway.

This is an issue that plagues people with software like mine. Finding the right audio device can take up to 30-60 seconds with the current Roblox implementation. Majority of modern video games use a drop down (see figure B), which would reduce the frustration your users are experiencing with your current implementation.
