Warden, Written_Law

Mission Statment

The Mission of the Department of Corrections is to protect the public and our staff from criminals inside our facility. We are the fine line between the community and Inmates. We will provide opportunities for positive change and success to promote, inform and educate them about helpful programs and how to succeed once released. And most of all to achieve excellence in correctional practices while fostering safety for victims and communities.

Call-Signs

You are to have DoC’s call-sign and a number from 1- 100. An example of this is: DoC-12

Tools

Detaining: The detain tool allows you to take away someone’s movement. We tell them why they are going to be arrested and read them their rights before an arrest is made sometimes transportation can be used.

Arresting: The handcuffs allow you to arrest the prisoner on-site, after reading them their rights. Another use is while in prison to respawn them to a jail cell.

Un-Arresting: The un-arrest tool should be used for when the prisoner does his/her jail time, they will be reset back on the Civilian team.

Police Baton: The Police Baton will be used for slowing down prisoners and stopping prisoners. This tool may not be used often.

(Abuse of any tools will lead to suspension or removal from current rank in the division.)

Searching

Searching Prisoners: You will take the detain tool and say -Cuffs- Say you will be conducting a search, Say -Searches- (What do I find?) If they say they have something you will determine if it is legal or illegal, illegal items are confiscated, legal items decide whether the prisoner should have it if or not.

Shakedowns: A shakedown is a random person/cell that is chosen, and Correctional officers conduct a search, follow the steps above for Searching Prisoners.

Charges

Time: You are responsible for looking at the Border Patrol Department Handbook and finding their charge time and releasing them at that exact time. A way to keep track of how much longer they have would be to use a timer.
