Hi! I am Cxany. I have been on the platform since 2015. I joined development in 2017. Throughout the years, I have specialized in UI, building and game design. This is one of my very first owned projects. I have worked on other projects, but those were not owned by me.

The Game

I got inspiration from this game concept from the game ‘Dawn of Aurora’. If you do not know the concept, the concept of my game, Criminals will be a Jailbreak/Mad City type game. There will be a huge environment to explore around with friends. There will be multiple locations where you can interact with stuff. However, this isn’t just like the classic escape jail games and rob. When you join the game, you will be granted with 2 options. Civilian and Police. As a police you are supposed to patrol the island for criminals and stop heists. As a civilian, you are an innocent player on the island. Civilians can work at different places around the map to earn money to buy cars, weapons, tools or furniture for your house. However, civilians can turn against the law and commit a crime. The first crime they commit, they will earn a bounty and become a criminal. Multiple heists will be placed around the map for criminals to rob at. These heists actually have some gameplay to them unlike other games. From a store, you must buy different items in order to rob the location. Such as explosives, lock picks and other tools. However, once you commit a crime on camera, you will be alerted to police. Your character will be pinned for 1 minute straight. Cops can view any camera at any time, too.

I truly think this is a unique game concept and think it will gain a lot of popularity and attraction.

The Job

This is a long term job. Meaning that you will have to stay until release and after release. This job will have WAY less work then all of the other jobs that we have. You will only be working for about 1 - 2 weeks each month. If you are interested, make sure you meet the following requirements.

  • 14+ of age
  • Okay with payment
  • Professional & respectful attitude
  • Atleast 6 months of experience with clothing design
  • Must have previous work
  • Must have a discord & roblox account
  • Must be dedicated to the project
  • Must be able to communicate well to other developers
  • Must keep assets confidential
  • Must be able to do clothing design

Payment

Sadly, I do not have enough payment to pay all l of my developers a reasonable amount of robux to create the game. That is why I am looking for people who are passionate for the game. I will be giving my clothing artist 3.5% of game revenue. (THIS IS A VERY SMALL JOB WHICH MEANS THE PERCENTAGE WILL BE SMALL. WE HAVE MULTIPLE DEVELOPERS TOO, SO I DON’T HAVE TOO MUCH ROOM FOR PERCENTAGES.)

Contact Us

If you are interested in the project and meet the requirements, make sure you DM me on discord. I will feel free to see your work!

Thank you!

Clothing design is a much bigger and more difficult job than most people care to acknowledge. That is all I will say on the subject, others can feel free to elaborate and build upon this.

when all i am asking is for the designer to make 3 pieces of clothing

lol i love the devforum

I wasn’t going to say anything else, but jesus christ. The tone/attitude of your response got me heated up.

Let me ask, do you have any experience in the clothing design industry?

If you do, you can agree that 1 piece takes about 1 - 2 hours. Longer if really high quality. I know designers that take 5+ hours to create one asset, because they have to go through numerous stages such as lineart, shading, detailing, and much more. Customers usually aren’t aware of this, and just think “oh yeah clothing design is the easiest dev job ever!” Really, it’s not.

I’m not sure of the quality you’re looking for, but you’re asking for someone to do 3 - 15 hours of work for…I’m sorry…3.5%?! For that to amount to anything, your game has to make tens of thousands of robux! There’s a tremendous chance that it’ll flop, but even if it does succeed, it’ll take a while to make that kind of money off it. The designer would be waiting quite a while for their cut of the profit. And if the game just doesn’t make revenue whatsoever…they get nothing.

Now, let’s say the game does make lots of revenue…clothing designers still deserve more than 3.5%. The fact that you’re offering next to nothing is truly insulting. I understand that you have more developers to pay, but you’re basically saying that clothing designers aren’t valuable.

Let me bring up an interesting point…where would Roblox be without us? What if all you had to wear was Roblox’s free stuff? Jailbreak wouldn’t have prisoner and police uniforms. Royale High wouldn’t have pretty princess dresses. Mad City wouldn’t have super-suits. Basically, the quality of gameplay would plummet. Do not take us designers for granted.

Notice how many hearts my first reply received- I am not the only one that holds this opinion.

Yea, I love the DevForum too. Despite the fact that an art form/profession I’m so passionate about constantly gets undervalued by it. Not pointing any fingers

so you are technically saying that 3 pieces of clothing is worth like 10 - 15% of game revenue. that is like 30 million robux per asset if the game gets somewhat successful

i said this again, i have many developers and im not going to lower their payment just because a designer wants more then 5% for 3 assets of clothing

anyways, i dont want to have this argument on the devforum.

feel free to bring this on in my discord, cxany#9392

Yes, I did read that you only wanted 3 assets. But did you also notice that I said that would take a minimum of 3 and up to 15 hours of work?

I am not putting myself out there and saying I am the most important…I am simply making an argument on behalf of the designing community as a whole. I’m not even interested in your job, as I don’t accept percentages even if they’re high.

Giving percentages for asset-based work like clothing design is flawed in the first place- Why would you continue paying someone, say a year from now, for something they probably already got their fair share for? Consider simply paying a one-time amount upfront. That would save you alot of money and trouble in the long run, and it’s fair to the designer.

still, for like 9 - 45 hours of work, i think that they should have 3.5% of profit. my other developers spend weeks of work. like i’m talking 35 hours a WEEK on this project. probably atleast 1,500 hours each to complete the project

yes, i would pay upfront, but not every developer has that kind of money
as i said before, bring this to dms. devforum isnt meant for arguments.

i simply ask for you to just continue this in dms

@Dalbertjdplayz If you’re annoyed, mute this topic or simply don’t read.

We’re having a civilized debate which is completely welcome on the DevForum. I personally have nothing more to say, as I have brought up all my points already. But I believe that this conversation should remain in the public eye, so that anyone interested in the job offer can see this and consider all opinions and viewpoints.

lol someone already took the job

idk, you can have your opinion

Agree. One outfit takes me around 4-5 hours, it’s not something that’s just done in 20 minutes

yes, it does take 4-5 hours,
doesnt mean that clothing designers should have a higher percentage when other developers spend 20 - 50 hours a week while clothing designers spend like 1 - 2 hours a week
