Hey everyone, I am looking for some low poly design reviews because I plan on putting this into a whole city of low poly buildings that I possibly may sell as exterior buildings.
You can review the buildings here when I begin adding them all and putting them all together.
The quality of the picture is not the best and the lighting on the developer forum says screw you, so I’d head into the game to see it better.
I think that this low poly build lacks detail. Maybe you could try to change the roof, add some decoration around or just make this build have more personality if you what I mean. I’m also wondering why there is a vertically placed window as well, it doesn’t really allign with the other windows which makes the placement feel awkward.
I can count 8 blocks for the whole house… Even for low poly, this lacks a level detail that can be considered acceptable. Buildings with that low detail, should only be for the far end of a background.
You’ve not looked at any references AT ALL and I suggest that you do. For one thing, recognise what kind of buildings that exist in a city, examine what kind of colour themes will work and also, in general, understand how an infrastructure of a city looks like.
I shall take a look at some references, I feel like I might head in blender and create low poly buildings, the current ones could be background possibly.
You don’t need to head into blender to make low poly houses. I have made plenty with parts and I think it is better that way for performance and customisability.
Low poly builds aren’t supposed to have a lot of detail, although this one lacks some details, I would recommend adding some shrubbery around it or some ledges under the windows.
Update: There is now another building and every building will have the inspiration building to the right of it. For example, my first building has a building next to it as the inspiration. Not everything is detailed much. Enjoy the new building!
