Who will you be developing for?
On this job you will be working for DevStudy - a development team on Roblox.
DevStudy is dedicated to bringing fun & enjoyable experiences to all Roblox users.
The Project:
This project has been DevStudy’s first project ever.
We started back on December 15th 2018, and have been working on it since.
The game is in fact nearly complete and not much is left to do, if brought onto the project you won’t have a ton to do, and you will be helping to complete final tasks and just help to smooth out the game.
This project is an ambitious game that has great potential and already has gathered a interest among people.
The game uses the most popular game physics on Roblox currently.
Meaning the game is a progress grind game in which time is required over skill, meaning anyone and everyone can get good at the game.
The game is centered around:
Climbing Mountains.
Collecting Gems.
Upgrading Gear - to go higher.
Upgrading Gear - to get down faster.
Collecting Badges.
Collecting Pets.
Reaching The Peak - of each mountain.
Competing To Be #1
The game has gained a little traction while being shown to a few communities.
YouTubers - DeeterPlays ( 139k ) & RazorFishGaming ( 231k ) have both shown interested in the project, and are both willing to make videos on the game when its out.
The Job:
Your job will be to make a few animations.
Some of these animations will be centered around models and the users interaction with them.
Tasks:
Animate the use of a Snow-Board for the user to ride down mountains on.
Animate the use of Ski’s ( A pole in each hand & the ski’s on each foot ) for the same use as above.
Animate a cheering emote.
Animate running emote.
Requirements:
At DevStudy we have a few requirements as to make sure we hire only the best of the best.
Here are these few things:
You must be 13+ - As to comply with Discord TOS & to confirm some level of maturity.
You must have a portfolio with past work, to show you are worthy of the job.
You should be able to work quickly, and be free often to work on the project.
Payments:
We are willing to put up to R$ 2-10k+ into this in total.
You would also be credited for your work, exposing your name as a developer to hopefully millions in the future.
^ The reason why this is a " [ BIG OPPORTUNITY ] is due to how popular this game could possibly be, and the interest it has been shown so far defiantly supports this.
As Kyrmaraaa was saying, the “Big Opportunity” is a bit misleading. Nothing stands out as a “Big Opportunity”.
Nothing supports this, as they don’t gain anything from this. At least not directly or straight away.
They aren’t actively working on the game, and aren’t a figure of the game and a “true” developer of it. Very rarely does anyone pay attention to the extra credits, and even then the odds of someone actually getting attention or a job off it is almost impossible.
The title just seems a bit misleading, as it’d be more of a “Big Opportunity” if they stood to gain a lot from it in either pay or attention. Plus the chance to gain something and actually getting it are two different things and it’s almost pure luck.
I’d just change the title to “[OPEN]” to let those interested know, and you don’t need to go for clicks here. It’s basically just a bonus and credit for their work, and as I stated. For them to actually gain anything from credits is little to none.
I wish you luck on your Roblox journey and that your game is successful.
This is all my personal opinion and nothing against you or your game.
“[ BIG OPPORTUNITY ]” should refer to the job opportunity.
If the developer isn’t gaining any percentage, it doesn’t matter wether or not the game is successful. Contracted/freelance work is what you’re looking for, so a one-time payout is the most effective payment strategy.
Showing the game’s success is not relevant, because wether or not the game is successful, the developer is guaranteed to earn the same amount of funds.
The only “[ BIG OPPORTUNITY ]” I can think of is:
the credit/reference (if this game is successful)
To support this point, someone willing to apply for this position can reference you and your studio, and truthfully claim he has created game asset(s).
Having a successful YouTuber or two play your game is not a really big achievement. YouTubers play any popular game so their fanbase does not get bored, wether or not the YouTuber actually enjoys it.
Edit: to elaborate more on this analysis, you’ve done the same thing here, as well as on multiple other topics. Please thoughtfully revise this decision.
