Due to an issue with the Scripter hired previously, we are re-opening applications
About Us:
Hi there! We are 5 Minutes More, a small upcoming game development team looking to make some amazing games.
About the job:
As part of our team agreement, I am not able to disclose any information to you on here. But I am able to tell you that it is a Story game. So if you are experienced with scripting story games (or simulators) and follow the requirements below, please do not hesitate to contact me.
You MUST script in 100% modular code whilst scripting our game.
The code must be CLEAN and ORGANIZED (one thing I really dislike about some Scripters, is that their code is very messy and is extremely inefficient).
(just like above) You code must be 100% lag free and completely optimized.
You must be familiar with Object-Oriented-Programming.
You must be 15 or above.
You must have great communication and teamwork skills.
Looking for someone who is:
A responsible individual.
Willing to share ideas and be open-minded.
Really well motivated and shows a passion for game development.
Willing to learn new methods and new workflows.
Able to work well with the team and have fun (sometimes I come across some extremely toxic people who are not willing to work at all with a team, extremely frustrating)
Payment:
You will be paid 500,000R$ AFTER completion of the project and that we are 100% satisfied.
OR
We are also able to work out some sort of hourly payment if needed.
Contact Me:
DM me on the DevForums Or
Comment your Discord ID and add me: Arxk#0022 and make sure to be ready to send any previous work.
Please make sure to comment your username when you’ve added me, as I have a lot of requests and it would be extremely difficult to find new users.
I’m sure we can come up with something if we are not satisfied, we can help you work through ideas and give you an idea of what we like. This is why we have the requirements.
I would be scared to do this because if I put tons of time into this and you don’t like it and we never find a middle ground, I just spent all that time and got no pay, I’d want a portion throughout development.
I understand the desire to keep the game idea closed to the public eye as it’s in development. However, providing information on what kind of work is required to do is almost a must.
I strongly recommend that you put generalized “requirements” for the role. In most job opportunities in real life, they don’t list as many requirements to the role because the job title is usually sufficient. Take “front-end developer”, you obviously are going to need knowledge of HTML, CSS and JS (and frameworks), and they will be explaining what you will be working on.
It’s a bit different on Roblox with the term scripter. You’re mentioning code style and that’s cool, but what will the scripter be doing? Will they work front-end, back-end, both? Do complex vector maths (which I suck at btw), database operations?
The reason we want this kind of information before starting to apply for the role, getting interviews etc. is that if they realize they’re not capable of doing what you wanted, you have:
wasted both of your time
revealed your idea
And that’s not something any of us wants to do. Additionally, here’s good example of how you can list what the scripter would be doing: https://playadopt.me/jobs/systems-engineer (see responsibilities section). (As the position you have is different, you’ll have to alter it).
I hope you’d consider what I told you above, as I could possibly be interested in the position. I also have a question for you in the end:
You can add me on Discord and we can discuss further if interested, but no - the scripter will not be receiving any percentages. As for the scripter, you should be able to script the entire game, you must be capable of database operations, front end and backend.
Make sure to let me know here when you added me on discord, and provide a username.
You don’t need to be 100% amazing with OOP, i’m just asking for you to be familiar with it, not likely that you’ll be asked to use it completely for this particular game.
Being familiar with OOP (Object Oriented Programming) would provide us with the assurance that you are able to work on a different layout of code.
