1. What’s Rivalry?
Rivalry is a fantasy-esque class based fighter game where you choose from the wide variety of classes, with its own unique abilities and skills. Battle against other players in game-modes such as Free for All, Death-match, Team Brawls, Boss Fights, etc or participate in events such as Tournaments, Art & Concept Contests etc. to earn yourself a name in the community!
Rivalry is similar to some really fun games back in the day like Strife! and Black Magic (Kudos if you know 'em!)
These games were my childhood and really enjoyable back in the day with attracting lots of players and a fantastic community that contributed a lot to the game itself.
If you want to get a feel of how the game would be, I recommend playing these two games:
(These are community-created backup games with FE, please ignore performance & quality issues as the game is really old and only has a single developer working on it)

But I cannot make it possible without the help of other developers and the community itself, so here I am.

We have a couple of maps, basic game mechanics, and some User Interface concepts that I personally have created which we can show if you are interested privately.
We are shifting our private trello to a public one that I will add soon to this post later.
I will also add other stuff that we’ve made as time progresses.
3. Hiring & Payment
Our Team is looking for dedicated people with good social skills.
We are particularly looking for:
- Animators
- Scripters
- Modellers
…if you feel like you could contribute to the game in other ways, feel free to reply to this thread or contact me directly through Discord or Forum PM
- Scripters who are experienced with humanoids, animating, c-framing etc. would be preferable
- Animators who can use Blender or Moon Suite Studio or any other programs to animate are accepted as long as they can export their work.
- Modellers who use Blender or other 3D programs are more preferred than those who use Studio.
We’re only hiring developers above the age of 13
Please refrain from applying if you are engaged in another huge project, or if you don’t have the time to work on Rivalry. We don’t want the game to be delayed because of a single person so if you are joining make sure you have time and the correct mindset.
People who apply will be thoroughly checked (Background information, Social Media) etc. as to avoid any possible controversies in the future.
Our set deadline is December, and we require our Team to work to their full potential and as a single team helping each other when needed and voicing their own opinions and ideas to the whole team to have a diverse developing experience.
Payment & Monetization
Everyone will be paid 2000+ (Scripters will be paid more) upfront before their contribution to the game as a security payment
We have split the development phases into 5. (It is explained more indepthly in our Trello, that we will link soon)
- Testing Phase
- Pre-Alpha Phase
- Alpha Phase
- Beta Phase
- Final Phase / Official Release
Our game will be paid access during the Pre-Alpha and early version of the Alpha Phase, all funds generated from the game during that time will be equally distributed among the developing team and some stored for running advertisements in the future.
The game will be monetized through Cosmetics that change the game visually but has no physical effect in combat. (Skins, Trails, Character Appearance)
There will be also Custom Unlockables classes with more visual effects than the usual ones.
Scripters will be given a % of the total income we earn after the initial or final release of the game as they are the ones who put more effort than the other (the correct amount can be discussed)
Modellers and Animators will be Paid Per Asset, where the price can be named before you give them to us, and it will be all logged in a Google Document so we can pay you during the development or after the initial or final release of the game.
If you feel like the payment methods are vague, I’m sorry, but this is all what we can offer right now. I am willing to sign any contracts or legal documents if needed as further proof.
4. Conclusion & Contacts
Overall, we are looking to make a really awesome game that can stand out from the rest and is genuinely enjoyable by the majority of the audience.
We will be holding Tournaments & Art Contests for the players through various social medias as a form of interaction between the developers and the playerbase.
