I have a simple question, I’m a beginner clothing designer and mainly focus on military outfits.
I was wondering what a good asking price (robux) would be for selling a military outfit to a buyer.
Could you please elaborate?
Do you mean you are considering selling your work to a group/individual, so they can use it for their army and sell it?
Or do you mean how much robux you should make the shirt/pants costs that anyone can buy?
Are you hoping to make custom clothing for said groups/individuals, or are you going to make random clothing with the hopes of selling the rights to sell it to others?
If you’re making custom clothing, by copying and pasting images of real clothing and then editing it to create the items, you can sell it for around 500 robux looking at your skill level, which is what I think you did.
Experienced and sought after designers sell it upwards of 3k+, which you should keep in mind if you continue making custom clothing.
If you draw your clothing from scratch, depending on your skill level you could reach upwards of 10k robux. 10k wouldn’t be too much to ask for. Most do it for 3k-5k.
Since you’re new, and relatively unknown to the clothing community I would say 500 would be a fair starting price.
If a group specifically hires him to make a specific piece of clothing than yes, 500 or less is a fair price for him to be asking.
But commercial clothing will never sell at the same rates as if you were hired to do so. people look at the prices before buying it (most do) and a shirt even more than 25 robux in price would be overlooked for a less expensive shirt.
No, you completely misinterpreted my comment. No one will buy a shirt over 70, or at least most won’t.
He should sell the rights to his clothing to a group that wants to use his clothing for their army or whatever, for around 500 robux. It is then up the the group in question to decide how much they want to charge their members to buy the shirt that he created. It is up to the group to decide how much robux they should put the shirt on sale for, to their regular members.
First up the outfit he linked wasn’t made this way, instead he combined several different templates which is a completely different way of designing clothing as you described.
Second the price for the kind of designs that take photo’s of real clothing and edit / size them in order to make them fit for ROBLOX characters is completely off. Most of these prices do start around 200-500 but a majority of the largest clothing designers currently still active design using this method and can charge much more (20-60k)
Since @MCkillerili doesn’t have a lot of name recognition and doesn’t design (most) of his own templates I’m going to estimate he’ll be able to charge between 200-650 per uniform, depending on the group and how much they’re willing to give.
My personal advice would be to join a clothing company - this is by far the best way to get recognition as a clothing designer. I’d also advice you on starting to design your own templates and shading - this might be difficult at the start but the sooner you begin the easier it’ll be down the road.
However, most clothing designers that actively work for a large group do indeed receive around 20-60k as you described. Whether if the owner gives them a % of the profits or pays them upfront for their work. However, per outfit, most clothing designers sell their assets for 3k+. They do not charge 20-60k per outfit alone.
Old time designers such as Ripint easily used to make those kind of figures per uniform, I can confirm this myself because I’ve spoken to many of these type of clothing designers.
Though its fairly uncommon and is only really reserved for the top there are also very few inviduals / groups that are willing to spend that kind of money, but those kind of figures are still possible if you are able to offer perfect clothing made from scratch.
