About The Job

I’m in search of a Co-Owner splitting 50% revenue for this chain series of games.

Someone who is proficient in Roblox Lua and shows above average UI designing.
This chain of games will have a different food beverage themes per game…
Manny’s Bakaria
Luca’s Pizzaria
Sander’s Donutaria
Marge’s Susharia
Etc… subject to name changes.

If your familiar with the site CoolMathGames,
you’d be aware of the series of Papa’s ‘blank’ iria.
Since that site is marketed to the same age group as Roblox, I figured why not twist the game up and make it within our very own Roblox platform.

The main core game will be dramatically changed to avoid full copyright and more adjusted to a faster paced and more addictive type game.

The lesson this gives children is learning how to cook in a sense.
Although it doesn’t teach IRL cooking, it gives them a sense of what ingredients are and what they are used for.
As well as how they are cooked in-general.
This gives children a fun addictive and educational learning experience not many games have to offer.

Payment

As stated above,
I’m looking for a Co-Owner.
This entails your able to Script and create UI with previous experience.
In return we will be splitting complete profits 50/50.

My portfolio:

I think he is not from any country that you use English language as Maine one. I guess he changed it. Also, good luck on finding someone!

I’m actually local to New York.
It was a mistake on my end :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

The 's can also be used to what noun owns. Example: I ate at sbob’s restaurant. In this example the 's isn’t is (that just wouldn’t make sense) it’s what sbob owns.

So technically your company can be food’s.
Example two of a major company
McDonald’s has an 's but it’s not for is. If McDonald’s has an 's, Food’s Inc should too.

Perhaps you’re asking too much for too little.

You’re looking for someone who is doing everything except the building. Already noting that it’d be hard to find someone who can do all three (you should split the jobs by specialisation and form your offers around those), you want to offer a 50-50 split of final profits. Certainly not a fair split at all.

The next thing to address is said profits and the game itself. There’s no compensation for if the games don’t succeed so obviously you must be confident that your games will do well on the market despite there being no guarantee of such. Percentage pay is a risky gamble when no figures can be named.

I’m as well advertising.
The split is mostly for the coding job and UI.

For GFX I’m able to hire someone to make the thumbnails and icons and possible logo.
So I honestly think the split is fair.

You do not need a half split for doing less work than the supposed Co-Owner you’re hiring. You are just as easily capable of using your own funds to advertise, which if your game is successful, will generate more revenue.

If you take away the necessity of the employee to do GFX, that’s one job off their list but that’s still not a fair split. They’re doing two jobs and you’re only doing one, yet you’re still expecting to split halfway. That is not fair.

No need to argue,
I’m offering 50% of the game revenue.

This being said,
I have prior experience which leads me to know how to manage projects as well as work as a duo to produce the highest quality game.

If someone is interested and wants to talk about payment a little futher, by all means.

I don’t need an argument in the comments when I’m trying to find a reputable and reliable developer.

It’s not an argument, it’s a reasonable discussion about how ethical and reasonable your offer is. You’re looking for a halfway split while doing less work than the person you’re hiring.

Prior experience doesn’t mean much. You still have to gauge your market and set up your project in such a way that it will be able to generate revenue and keep players hooked. There are already studios that have gone professional even on Roblox with several figures in budget and yet their games flop. Nothing is guaranteed.

I am trying to tell you how to improve your offer to better respect the employees you’re about to hire and garner more interest in your project. Right now, this isn’t promising in the slightest.

If you don’t want to heed my advice or discuss it and instead dismiss it as an argument, then fine I guess. Good luck finding anyone who’s interested in doing lots of work for bad pay and no guarantee of compensation.

You can privately message me if your interested yourself for the project.

Just having a reasonable public discussion about how you believe (and a some others) this isn’t a good payment is fine. Your making me seem at fault.

Realistically no game is subject to instant popularity even big the biggest studios, like you mentioned.

I feel as giving children a fun, addicting, and educational approach could actually be successful if we plan everything out correctly.

The payment is split evenly as this is how the jobs ‘might’ be set up as.
Axcerious - Building, Modeling, Marketing.
Empty - Scripting, UI

Building and Modeling will be huge on this chain of games as it’s the fundamental and needs tons of props.

Scripting is important to makes sure everything works together.
As a TEAM we will manage to do everything even if we need to learn something quick like animation.

I understand you don’t think the payment is fair, which is fine you can have your opinion but if someone is looking to be a Co-Owner this entails equal percentage in this occasion.

It’s your job offer that I disagree with. I’m not putting you specifically on the spotlight nor is that my intention. I’m simply saying you should reconsider what you’re offering. It’s already going to be hard enough as it is to find someone interested.

No one said that. There’s a difference, however. Those games have a market and they typically have start up funds to go along with it. They have guaranteed compensation pay to offer should the game not generate the expected revenue necessary to pay employees. This typically goes with a percentage if the developer is intended to stay long-term (the compensation is not paid if the game does well and overexceeds the amount that is rightfully due to the developer).

Monetary concerns are mostly all covered within the job offer itself. You also have other developers who test the market of their game first and make preliminary monetisation efforts before bringing others on board.

It’s all about planning and determining what will benefit you while also respecting those who work under you and having at the very least something reassuring to go by.
