However, what if the owner of the handbook resigns? Or what if the user isn’t available to do edits to the handbook. I’m currently thinking about the possibilities and I’ve researched some concepts. One of these is using the Discourse API. Updating a specific post.

There is a _forum_session cookie that you might be able to use, but I’d advise against it.
