So I came here to get opinions on whether or not this is concerned ‘animal abuse’ on my upcoming horror project. The game is about a childrens TV show that has ‘artificial animals’ as the main cast. The ‘animals’ look uncanny and not realistic. The story is that the corporation behind the show created the ‘animals’ in a lab to be stars on the show. I’m not sure if this would be defined as animal abuse or experimation on animals. They aren’t actual animals but artificial mutants created from a lab. Here’s a picture with what I mean:

They mean animal abuse as in hurting animals, like people doing graphic things to them.
Because this isn’t realistic, and how the animal isn’t really going through pan, you’ll be fine
