Was watching this guys video: - YouTube. On the mirror method I to do what he did with the union and negate but it ended up looking nowhere near what it’s supposed to look like. Does this method not work or did I do it wrong?
Overall, I’d suggest staying as far away from unions as possible, as it could lead to plenty of problems with your parts, plus it’s hard to work with and outdated compared to other 3D Art softwares such as Blender or Maya. Heck, you can get the same thing without using unions as well, which is how I would do it.
Anyways… let me try it out, then I’ll come back to you with an answer. One possible reason is, did you negated all of the parts except the main block you want your window to be?
Yeah I did, the video showed me that i needed to negate all the parts besides the main block and then unionize it with the main block.
Sorry for the late reply, but honestly, you should just not unionize it like he did. It adds some sort of invisible barriers plus it’s just hard to work with. You can, instead, just add a frame with four parts, then shrink it in more and more and more, and get the same result, plus you can easily make changes to that model instead of with this guy is asking for what you should do.
Can you elaborate with the frame and four parts section? Yeah I’m probably not going to use his method.
So, what I’m trying to say is that you can add four parts to create the main frame of the window, or whatever it is that you want to use that to make it. Then, you want to duplicate the parts, and shrink it down over and over as many times as you like. I hope this helps you with me elaborating on this.
