I am currently working on an Arcade game where you earn in-game currency which can then be spent in various ways, the 2 main ways being in the item shop and the arcade games.
The games are mostly sort of gambling-ish games, e.g. crash or cases
I’m essentially looking for a way to tweak the gameplay to abide by the Roblox TOS as I understand any sort of gambling is a big no-no.
Does anybody have any suggestions or solid boundaries which can still make the game possible?
E.g. You earn “credits” each time you play a game and you can then exchange these for things of value, so you are never completely loosing? Or maybe just make it so you can’t buy the money in-game?
The short answer could easily be no, I have provided a link to the Roblox Community Standards which will highlight the specific section and have also quoted it below:
“we allow unplayable gambling content (e.g., showing a casino or non-playable characters playing cards) as well as games of luck and chance that are not casino or gambling based. However, experiences that include simulated gambling, including playing with virtual chips, simulated betting, or exchanging real money, Robux, or in-experience items of value are not allowed.” ¹
Roblox is basically stopping gambling outside of just normal egg opens with odds in games. I would avoid that genre of stuff since with gambling you will be open to rule changes all the time or potentially violating something on accident and losing all the hard work you have done.
