Just to confirm an example situation:
Team A - Wins #1 , is one person, only gets $600
Team B - Places #2 , is 5 people, gets $2,000 ($400 each)
Seems a bit weird if Team A is able to win with one person but the actual work receives less of a prize than Team B that had 5 people.

its also weird if 5 people work on a game and only come home with a little over 100 dollars each for 1st place…

Which is why the prize should be per team, not per person. Let the team split it.

sounds interesting (because of prizes), I’m in

Hey there! The prize will be sent directly to each person on the team.

no lmao cuz that just encourages greediness and 1 person teams

I’m super excited. This game jam has its pros and cons compared to last year (Connect 2022). Last year, I won top 25th with my previous team! I hope my new team and I can get into the top 3 on one of the categories!
PROS:
Interactive workshops with a change of winning $30 USD
Bigger community
Starts earlier
3 first-place winners (1 for each category)
5x longer time to create your game
CONS:
Prize pool is less (first and second place will get less money while third place wins more compared to last year)
More players who just want the avatar items instead of real Roblox developers
4-25th place do not win any prizes anymore

Yes. I’m just pointing out a potential flaw that would directly discourage small teams.
Team A wins with 5 people, the game receives $3,000 for it ($600 sent directly to each team member).
Team B wins with 1 person, the game receives $600 for it ($600 sent directly to one team member).

Hey there! It doesn’t matter if there is one person or five people in a team. Each person will receive their prize directly. The amount won’t be sent to the team.

A_Luma:
1st place - $600 GoGift card per team member.
2nd place - $400 GoGift card per team member.
3rd place - $200 GoGift card per team member.
I know I’m complaining over nothing here, but the GoGift catalog is pretty bad. I want a Steam or Visa card to do whatever with, not shoe stores or mcdonalds.
I tried going to see the cards, but the site didn’t even work, so I’m going off what I remember from the one last year.

yeah i understand that, Im disagreeing with the notion that the whole team should split the prize instead of receive the prizes seperately

Time for me and my team, a totally real team, of 20 to join and win 12K dollars in 1st place!
Just kidding! I honestly don’t have much time to compete against 100 or more people, but it will interesting to see!

I have a question. Can I submit a blank game and get the prizes from DevRel Virtual Prize Series @PlanetLumaLee or do I have to submit an actual because I saw ppl getting the items without trying
