Connecting a controller causes Roblox to crash

What is the issue?

Whenever I connect an external controller (currently using a DualShock 4 wireless controller) to my desktop computer, Roblox freezes up. Unlike normal freezing which turns the app unresponsive, this one simply freezes the app like it was an indented feature. Additionally, you cannot Alt + F4 from the application, you are forced to close it using Task Manager.

How does this bug occur?

Connect a DualShock 4 wireless controller to your computer while Roblox is open (if Roblox is not open, it will simply freeze before the game even loads). The game will freeze.

Where does this bug happen?

Any Roblox game that I try to use a controller with.

When did the bug started happening?

As far as I know, it started occurring since January 17, 2023, 2:30 PM EET (UTC + 02:00).

Unsure if I should create a new report for this but I appear to be encountering crashing issues with a controller connected.

The controller in question is a Logitech G920. It ran fine for a few days but after an update the client refused to be open with the controller connected.

Hello, has been quite a while however I’m also still experiencing Roblox crashes when having a connected controller (Specifically a Logitech g923 steering wheel & pedals). However, this only occurs when Logitech G HUB is installed.

The only way I found to bypass this is to either delete the Logitech G HUB, disconnect the steering wheel, or use the Microsoft store Roblox app.

To use the steering wheel on Roblox, I use x360 however this has no impact - the Logitech G HUB does.

Might need to open another bug report for this as it’s more of a software conflict issue

I have similar issue, happend to me when I installed a driver for my controller because the vibration motors wouldn’t work… then I saw roblox freeze completely as soon as i plug the controller (including studio)
