Console testing VS controller on PC testing

Hi, so I’m working on making my game compatible with controller, although I’ve been experiencing weird UI navigation issues when using a controller on PC.

My friend told me controller on PC is buggy, and that console directly is more reliable.

However, it’ll cost me ten bucks to see if the interface either works as intended or the same on my console; because Microsoft is greedy.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I mean. $10 ain’t much really. It’s a pay-once keep forever thing so it’s probably worth it.

It’s actually a monthly fee, and I never play on it so I don’t really want to throw ten bucks out the window on something that could be determined beforehand.

If it’s a monthly fee, consider seeking out help from someone who owns an XBOX One console and do lots of testing 'till something works out. If you can’t find such a user then you’ll have to go the tough way of controllers on PC.

Well, I wasted about 2 hours doing this all to find out console and PC w/ controller run identically, if anyone was wondering the same if they’re working on cross-platform games.

Waste of time but I guess that’s good to know :joy:

Honestly, the guy or the friend of yours that said that controller gameplay on PC is buggy either has a hardware/software issue with his own PC or just made an assumption and hasn’t actually tried it out ORRRRRR the most realistic theory would be they didn’t use or experience the PC/Controller kind of gameplay long enough and it might have been frustrating for him and concluded that it was buggy.
