Greetings, I was attempting to create a car rig but the CylindricalConstraint forced the car to rotate the physical wheels out of position. Am I doing something wrong/ set something incorrectly?
The wheels rotate, thus moving the car sideways. Any solution? (PS: Let me know if this is the incorrect category, I’m not exactly sure where this should go.)
Make sure the Attachments face the same direction in each wheel and in the frame.
Attachments have an orange and yellow arrow in them when selected, and you can rotate each one.
I can’t remember which is which, but one arrow is for the hinge pivot direction and the other is for the angle that the Attachment is oriented. If Constraints are out of alignment you should see a warning arrow that shows the alignment problem.
Your HingeConstraint pivot orientation is the orange 2 cylinder item in the left of your first picture, so it is 90 degrees out of alignment. Whichever Attachment the HingeConstraint is attached to needs to be rotated.
I just make sure that they all point the same direction when I’m building and rarely have any issues.
I’m not sure what the warning arrow looks like. Can you show me what the cylindrical constraint should look like after rotation? I’m not exactly sure on what you mean.
Select the Attachment0, note which way the yellow/orange arrows point.
Select the Attachment1, note which way the arrows point.
Rotate the Attachments until the yellow arrows both point out the side of the wheel (the axle direction).
The red warning arrow at the left of your first screenshot (at the edge of your green SelectionBox) and the tiny tail end of red warning arrow poking out of the yellow arrow to the right of the picture are indicating that the HingeConstraint and the Attachment aren’t aligned.
If you’re using the Roblox Car tutorial it should explain all of these alignment items.
