The following error message has recently started popping up in all our servers:
This is causing virtually all assets in the experience to become greyed-out. The experience is social-orientated so this makes it almost completely unplayable, and has resulted in a massive drop in players over the last few days.
This error occurs for all servers in-game, however not in-studio.
One way to re-produce the issue is to set any texture value (for meshes, decals, etc) to "http://www.roblox.com/asset/?id=". Reproduction uncopylocked place here:
This is not the only cause as the error is still thrown after removing all incomplete textures. I still can’t narrow down the other causes. Removing all references of the ContentProvider within scripts does not change anything either. These together suggest an internal bug with Roblox’s content loading that was recently introduced in the last few days.
A fix asap would be appreciated as this has massively disrupted gameplay for players and virtually killed our games.

We’ve been experiencing this same error as well, to the point where we had to stop using PreloadAsync because it was preventing the rest of the script from running.
Thanks for the quick response, although even after re-publishing the game and re-installing the Roblox Player the issue is still appearing (tested in a new private server):
The fix for stoll is fully rolled out now. Can you please restart client and use a new game server retest it? Thanks!
@radiogamer can you elaborate on the audio failed to load bug? Is it a public audio or private audio? If it’s a private audio, did you grant permission to the universe? Where does the audio failed to load? in studio, player or game server?
Certain sounds seems to be randomly failing while others are consistently failing.
For instance, beep tone - Roblox is consistently failing and used to work fine before the fix you have performed recently. It is now showing the “Unable to download sound data” as Ben described.
In addition, various APM music are also showing the same error. To list a few:
I think the level of seriousness of this bug should be taken to a higher degree because now I can’t even load myself into the game because none of the assets will load, including my own character.
That assets don’t even load IN STUDIO. When I open Roblox Studio, I’m greeted with this:
Not sure if it’s related but starting today (more specifically around an hour ago) I have tons of failing assets like SurfaceAppearances and Skybox Textures. I have to open my places 1-2 times because it just isn’t responding.
My PC has a good graphics card and I’ve never had this issue until around a few hours ago.
Even after waiting a few minutes it’s still frozen. When I can open my place, a lot of textures fail to load in. This only happens in Studio and not in live servers.
