[Contest] Make profile avatars for the needy

GG guys.
Kinda feels fitting that someone as “classic” as Tyler got it.

Out of curiosity, can you share how the rest scored?
Tyler can you post a version that is 48x48 as well? We could shrink it ourselves but don’t want to lose quality. We need 100x100 and 48x48. Thanks.
Here you go!

Great job Tyler! Also, Arceus and Vex had some wonderful avatars. Wish there was a consolation prize for them.

I’m not even mad. I’m actually glad Tyler got it instead of Alex or Arceus. Sorry guys, your ego was too big.

Hehe, they were anticipating it so much I kind of had the same feeling.

Do you mind explaining why your picked tyler’s? I didn’t think it matched the site very well so I tried something totally different. Where did I go wrong with my avatars?
Yours are fantastic but I don’t think it’s what they were looking for- the point of avatars is usually to stand out from the forum, not look like a part of it. I went for simple, blocky colors that popped and look nice together, surrounded by some forum colors.

Not to be mean, but I don’t think that’s true. Default avatars are meant to look bland, it’s an incentive for other users to change it. Look at Facebook, Twitter, anyone’s default avatar. They’re all grey and bland, but elegantly simple.

Twitter’s default avatars come in many colors by the way.

Oh, so they do.

Congrats Tyler! Id love to see more contests like this in the future. Keeps us on edge and having fun :DDD

Congratulations, Tyler! I had a feeling a 2D-themed (if that’s the word for it…) entry with color was going to be considered.

Can we have a list of pre-set avatars from those who made like 50 submissions to pick from when a user decides to update his profile pic?

So many of them are so good that I want to use them for myself now

EDIT: And now currently using one of Sporeman15’s submission cause this one really caught my eye

I think asking why Tyler got picked is a bit rude, Obviously his was the favorite of the majority, therefore it won. Be good sports and be happy for him!

Congrats Tyler!

I’m not asking to be a jerk and demand that something else be chosen. I’m asking because I want to know how I can improve my submissions in any future contests.

Also, everyone has their own opinions. I for one, think that Tyler’s wasn’t the best submission choice, and neither were mine. I honestly liked Archaic’s first submission the best. That’s my opinion though, not necessarily the opinion of the majority. It’s not rude for us to try and understand why one submission was picked over another.

/me sobs loudly[sub] and clings to Tyler’s leg begging for hat[/sub]

What a niccceee teapot you have there. It’d be a sssshame if sssssomething were to happen to it. >:)

Oh wow. Nice job Tyler, I honestly was expecting the more bland ones to win, but I like yours quite a lot now that you’ve explained a lot of it. Have fun with the OP teapot.

Tyler’s looked odd at first (the arms look tiny but it’s just because they’re being cut off.) But it’s catching on. Also his first one, the one chosen, was his best imo.

Edited his to reflect my biggerhead personality:
