For the past few days, a game of mine’s content maturity label has repeatedly been rejected due to “heavy” or “realistic” blood. The issue with these rejections is that:
The blood that comes from players has been replaced with literal confetti.
The moderator’s feedback given was that “I, the developer, was the one who provided the label”.
This has happened twice now. I’ve contacted Roblox support for appealing the game which has gotten absolutely nowhere.
The moderator that has been handling my labels have been very unprofessional. Using baseless evidence has killed my game and revenue entirely. This should not how Roblox should be treating the very developers that make them money.
welcome to roblox moderation roulette. ur first mistake is assuming the moderator actually joined ur game to see the confetti.
they didn’t. you are dealing with an outsourced contractor who spends 3 seconds looking at a cached snapshot, or an automated bot. if your game ever had realistic blood in the past, their internal review tools might still be pulling up those old assets or outdated place versions. that’s why they keep telling u that u provided the wrong tags—they genuinely think u are lying on the questionnaire based on outdated info.
regular support is completely useless for this. here is how u force a bypass:
dummy-proof your metadata: temporarily change your game title or description to explicitly include [NO BLOOD - CONFETTI UPDATE]. reviewers rely heavily on text/thumbnails. force a new hash: make a minor change, overwrite/publish your place file to generate a new version ID, and then retake the questionnaire. this forces the system to pull a fresh snapshot. forum escalation: if zendesk still gives u AI-generated rejections, stop emailing them. escalate this by messaging the @Mod_Review_Requests group here on the forum, or DMing DevRel. they are the only humans who actually care about false positives tanking dev revenue.
Thank you for the feedback! Not only does this point out multiple problems but you’ve also provided good solutions to prevent future rejections. I will be sure to try these out. Much appreciated!
My driving game’s label has also been rejected for me apparently providing a “CM” label. I tried to search up what “CM” means; however, I have gotten nowhere. Maybe it means “Content Maturity”? But obviously, it is still very vague.
Buddy, you just need to go through the questionnaire. The moderator felt that violence was Repetitive in your experience, and you indicated episodic (Occasional) Violence in the questionnaire. Just replace this item and that’s it.
