When you have a controller connected to your device, opening up your Backpack
allows you to use UI navigation to move around in your Backpack
. When you interact with a Tool
’s slot, it does a slight animation where the slot bounces in size, becoming bigger then back to it’s original size. This functionality typically has a debounce to (presumably) prevent you from making the Tool
icon massive.
However, if you also have a mouse connected, using the mouse still retains the controller’s functionality in the Backpack
UI. The mouse does not have any debounce for the bouncing animation, allowing you to spam click the Tool
and make that specific slot in your hotbar bigger than intended.
Step by step reproduction process:
- Have a controller and a mouse connected to your device
- Open up your
Backpack
by either using thebackquote / tilde
key on your keyboard, by opening the controller menu and pressing on theBackpack
button or by using the Roblox top bar UI - Using either your controller joystick or your keyboard, move around to any slot in your
Backpack
- Start spam clicking the slot you currently have highlighted with UI navigation
This happens in both studio and in-game
I doubt my hardware is what’s causing this, but just in case:
I have an AMD Ryzen 5 4600G CPU with Integrated Graphics and 12GB of Memory
I am on a Windows 10 Home operating system
Below is a video that shows what happens:
