Cooperative Top-down Shooter (Looking for input)

So, I’ve been sitting on the idea of a cooperative, campaign based zombie shooter for months now. Now that it’s summer, I have time to start designing it.

I wasn’t really sure what style to make the gameplay at first, but I’m convinced now that a top-down shooter is the way to go.

So here’s my question to you guys, which camera setup looks the best?

Standard top-down shooter style

Slightly less vertical

Less of a top-down style, but gives a better view of the size of the city

Zombies for good measure =p

Like I said, it’s all very early, but I’d like to get the basic gameplay mechanics ironed out.

Take the gameplay of the browser game Dead Frontier and make it better than that.

Definitely decrease the FieldOfView to a small number if you can find the hacks to make the camera still work the way you want it to there. An orthographic camera (Which a camera with FieldOfView = 1 degree basically is), would look much better there than a normal one.

Top down view looks the best.

In the first image: It’s ‘vertical,’ not ‘verticle’
