Copyright for an item I bought

If I were to buy a product (livery) off of a user, for 800 robux that I later ended up not using for it’s intended purpose (aka i didnt use it at all), is the creator allowed to resell it? Asking because I paid for a service that the creator is now advertsing the product I paid for because I refuse to use it in the game.

Not offering it for sale, just straight up giving it away, and approaching people asking if they can put it in their games.

Really weird, just needed some help so I can inform him that he will be reported if he continues.

For example if you buy a map from someone and don’t use it they cannot resell because you own the map once you buy it and you own all rights to it

This is it exactly! As long as you have proof of the transaction, if they dont listen you should be able to sue them if thats what you wanted to do lol

I second Donald’s comment, but it can always depend on the terms of your agreement. Generally it is assumed that the product or service your purchase is yours to own and distribute regardless of usage. I think it is fair to hold them to that.

But, if they refuse to turn over the rights to your commission, I’m not sure Roblox will moderate for external transaction like this. It might be more effective just to share your experience in a place where their future customers can see. I’d hope it’s an innocent mistake and they don’t have fraudulent intentions!

I agree with the first post however sueing someone over an 800 robux transaction would be a little to far.

Sure its a bit much, but heck, its basically free money, and they get to learn a lesson!
