i’m trying to use the song “We’ll meet again” by Vera Lynn, I know songs that are over 70 years old are public domain, but I can’t seem to publish this song. help?
I don’t know copyright laws, but when searched, it usually says they last 70 years after the creator’s death, i might be wrong though.
US copyright law states iirc
Life of author + 70 years
OR
Publish + 95 years
Whichever comes first.
Unfortunately companies are greedy and will still try to keep recent PD entries in their grubby mitts. Like iirc Disney still tried claiming reuploads of Steamboat Willie after its copyright expired in January of this year.
(Not a lawyer btw.)
