I’m making a racing game that is based off of another one, you’re gonna have to guess what game it is cos I’m not gonna tell, but its a large company, if I base all my maps off of theirs, but not copy it exactly, will I get in trouble in terms of copyright or something like that, similar to what happened to shinobi life?

I mean I’m no law expert… but if you don’t use the map names and only make them similar it won’t matter.

If your maps are loosely based off or inspired by the maps from this other game, this would be completely fine since there’s nothing wrong with inspiration.
If you copied these maps too closely or literally reverse engineered them, this would run the risk of causing copyright issues.
