recently I’ve had an idea of making a fan made super smash bros on ROBLOX. (ill try to not violate copyright as well btw) do you believe a game like this can succeed in the current climate of ROBLOX?

Depends on how its executed. Games based off good ideas can do bad, and games based off bad ideas can do good. It all depends on how its executed, if you know your target audience, how well you market it, etc. Marketing is more essential than ever on the Roblox platform since there so much competition.
the original super smash bros is aimed at children (ya know Mario and stuff) so I’m kind of confident its a good idea. I’ve also got a friend who could do the marketing and ads

Tbh I think u should get quite a few people hyped for the game maybe make a group about then go tell people and random games then you might get 60 people on the group all hyped for it and when it releases and if it’s really good then they tell their friends and that’s how I got my game popularish (2 million visits) with 0 robux.
Why ask this? The answer is clearly yes, any game can succeed as long as it follows ToS.
im not gonna be worrying about the TOS since were gonna have our own sounds. roblox characters. our own stages, our own moves.
The possibilities with a game like that good by endless, and could end up doing well, just like any of type of game.
I’d say if you’re dedicated to making the game and you’re not just making it for a quick cash-grab, I’d say go for it.
I really love super smash bros and I really wanted to put this idea into development. for the cashgrab part we wont be including game passes except donations.

Super smash bros is super hard to replicate because if it is done wrong they can be really REALLY boring.
I would actually love a Super smash bros game that includes more social components. Maybe a multiplayer game with a good storyline?
this isnt about a mario game. its about a super smash bros type game on roblox. mario games are also not allowed as they can infringe on copyright.
