Hey everyone, so a week or two ago I was talking to Sk3let0n and got permission to base one of my new showcase maps off of one of his classic builds. So far I think it’s going pretty well, I still have lots to do with interiors, colours, lighting, textures, etc etc however I’d like to get some opinions on what I should change/add/remove as of now. Theme is post-apoc CCCP (Soviet union), I’d say late 80’s/late 90’s date.
We actually have it so it dosn’t lag as much as it may seem, unless you have a very very very bad computer. Each map is hooked up to a game universe and we have select things regen after each time/game rather then the entire maps, and we also made many of the things localized instead of global (guns for instance). The only thing we’re working out it the AI system, which the more complex system has been giving us slight lag issues. Other then that the map and scripts are efficient so we hope it dosn’t effect gameplay too much
Why not make localized zombie rendering? Have the global body invisible and when you are so close the body renders locally so you are seeing less moving parts at a time, also you could do 2 part bodies for the global body (a head and torso) and have the animated one render via player camera.
