Covering edges of maps

title says it all basically, i’m trying to cover the edges of my map but from what i’ve tried it didn’t look that good:

  • mountains: doesn’t make too much sense
  • fog/atmosphere: not really the style i’m looking for in this map
  • slight elevation: the one that makes the most sense but still pretty obvious there is an edge

right now i have the slight elevation method as you can see here:

i would expand the elevation “zone” but i’m working with limited space since i need to make 3-4 more of these maps

any ideas to try out?


I would suggest using the infinite water model or maybe use a custom sky which could meet the terrain line. Hope this helps and good luck!
