as you can see in the above pic there are cracks sort of things near the lips and the top.
i this think this may be cause of the textutre the wierd thing with these “cracks” is that they dissapear when i move away form the head slightly.
really need help as i am new to blender.

My only guess is that the UV map still included parts of the outer boundaries of the texture, that is the darker, discolored skin tone. UV maps don’t use pixels to define the texture’s mask for the mesh, but a set of vertices similar to the mesh itself.
The UV map of the doll you were retexturing is quite bad though, but you don’t have to get into the trouble of editing that. Just try recoloring the rest of the texture outside the UV map.
Another thing is to use the texturing feature of Blender (which should be much better.) It appears you used an external art/photo editing software judging by the partially noticeable strokes on the texture file.
