Create a Logo | Part 1 | Photoshop/Photopea | Tutorial

In this tutorial I will teach you how to create and use text effects, (Waves/CutLetters/AddVectors/Warp/Curves)

THIS ALSO WORKS IN PHOTOPEA BUT WAS MADE IN PHOTOSHOP

Photoshop

Create a new file with size of 1850x1080
First you want to create a text using the “text” tool or “T” keybind.
In order to resize text use Ctrl T in photoshop and Alt Ctrl T in photopea.
image
After your done with that you are gonna want to open Blending Options by right clicking the text layerimage
At blending options you can mess around with strokes, outlines, glows, textures and more in order to help your text look better, in my case I am gonna add a black stroke with the size of 25 but it’s your choice.

Waves

In order to add a wave we are gonna use the pen tool to create a wave like shape (P keybind)

Once again we are gonna go to the layers tab but instead of Blending Options we are gonna go to “Create Clipping Mask”, that would clip the current layer to the layer below you

Your layer tab should look like this
image
You can now change the wave color by double clicking the wave image
image

CutLetters/AddVectors

Make sure you rasterized the layer before doing this or it will not work
Resterize by right clicking the layer again and selecting “Resterize Type”
Now if your wondering how we remove a letter and replace it with an image, here’s how!

Select the cut tool (M)
image
Then zoom into the letter you want to remove with the magnifying glass, in my case I will be removing the “E” from “TEXT”
Slowly select the “E” with the tool.

Now press “Delete” on your keyboard
Now you can deselect it by using Ctrl D

When your done just load in any image and resize it to fit the gap between the text

Then group and merge (Ctrl G, Ctrl E)

Warp/Curve Text

Warping and curving text basically means you will be changing the text perspective
In order to warp and Curve text make sure your text is rasterized, once that is done transform the text (Ctrl T) was in that mode right click the text

Now select “Warp”, now you can change text perspective and size customly, if you want to use a template for the warp I’d go for Arc, but it’s your choice

In order to change the template go to Warp: Custom, change custom to any warp template.

Thank you so much!, I am releasing part 2 very soon

Can you make the next part based in photopea?

Thank you , this helped me to learn even more about Photoshop.

Yes! gonna finish it tomorrow or today

what about PaintDotNet?
is that program is not good enough for logo making

Im pretty sure paint.net is not advanced enough.

Have you not heard of plugins though?
I installed many and it can actually compete with photoshop. I think.

I own both, paint.net with plugins and photoshop, in my opinion paint.net is a really good software but photoshop is unbeatable, it has a lot of features that can’t be competed with.

You’re right about that but that’s what you get as a free alternative. also, what about GIMP?

GIMP is good too, I can’t really say anything about it tho because I haven’t used it enough to have an opinion on it.

I think we should close it off for now. just so we don’t clutter this thread.
