Create a structure that appears to be non-Euclidean

Hello, everyone!

I recently watched this fascinating video based on non-Euclidean world engines. They’re basically optical illusions. For example, you may see a hallway that is short from the outside, but when you enter, you’ll have to walk farther than if you just walked around it. The opposite can be created as well.

Compare a normal room to the TARDIS from Doctor Who. In a normal room, it would occupy the same space no matter your position. However, the TARDIS from Doctor Who has a feature where is it “larger from the inside”… where if you are outside, it will appear to occupy less space than if you are inside. (I don’t watch the show, so … sorry if I get something wrong.

If I did a bad job explaining, watch this awesome video by CodeParade. Super mind blowing.

I am a huge fan of optical illusions, especially those of the 3D variety, and this video absolutely piqued my interest. I’ve heard that it’s currently impossible to do without hacking. However, the posts I found were 6 months outdated, and even just seeing a fake room would be really cool.

Is it possible to realistically fake a non-Euclidean world engine in Roblox?

Calling those “rendering engines” or engines at all is a bit far-fetched. That is a framework at best and is based on checkpoints with predetermined teleportation points or functions and is actually really easy to make.

If you look closely at the vid you provided, you will notice how he never looks back when passing through tunnels because he cannot mask it in an easy way (it would be obvious he just gets teleported towards the end).

As for whether it is possible. Yes it is, but get ready to get your hands dirty if you want a believable result for the end user.
