As stated above, the creator must be 17+ to create a 17+ game
I think what they might be trying to ask is what would happen if Roblox might automatically rate a game 17+, since I believe they can do that if they deem the content to be suited towards that age range.
That is what I mean it isnât their fault and they canât delete games either but those 2 types of games canât exist without a barrier the parents should be the barrier but they canât because you canât just monitor your children all-day
The examples given here seem to try and move the attention towards the more obvious form of gambling, and away from the simulated gambling that is going on in games with lootboxes or simulators and their gambling eggs. Will these still be counted as gambling and will they have to be removed as well?
Oh. Well in that case, I think you would have to contact Roblox support about that or try to rate you game again and if Roblox still makes it 17+ email Roblox Support
I love the idea still - but I feel roblox has no intention of doing something like this because they target children in their games; going out of their way to make it more applicable to young adults doesnât make sense for them
wow no way, making a 17+ game means only 17+ people can play it?? who would have thought
As stated in the original post, lootboxes and paid random item generators are stilled allowed as long as they comply with the Community Standards.
And even if i went with effort of turning the existing slot machine into an arcade-styled machine, iâd have to add another 2 currencies (tokens and tickets) into the game. Having 4 currencies already is gonna be hell when it comes to desplaying it all on UI. I donât even know what i should do.
That is not on Roblox, that is on the developer of the games and Roblox cant just tell everyone that they can no longer make any kids games.
Even though they should realistically be classified as gambling, I mean it literally the definition of gambling.
Yeah but developers make games to make money, most of the people playing roblox are under 13. Theres no incentive for them to go out of their way to lose money.
If you want to make money, kids games are not the only ones that will make you money. You can make really good 13 or 17+ games and if you make it really good you will be making bank
I really want to know how much is too much.
Iâm currently making a Hotline Miami inspired game, and as a lot of people know, such franchise is known for its violence and gore, would blown off heads and chopped body parts be too much?
What about dog enemies that you can kill?
Are settings to disable such violent content required in 17+ games? Be disabled by default?
Itâs not the parents fault for giving their child access to to a platform that you can use a ID on looking like this:
but then ultimately containing content that i dare not upload a image of.
Still, records show that 92% of the current players on the front page are under 13 during 3 pm to 10 pm Standard time, people CAN make money doing 13+ games, but can make MORE money doing under 13 games.
Yes, even for some 13 year oldâs that would be to much
Do you actually agree that kids spending fake or real currency on âââpaid random item generatorsâââ which is actually just another form of gambling is perfectly fine?
Roblox just doesnât want to get rid of all their -making simulators and lootbox games.
Just to be sure, does EVERY representation of a romantic theme count towards the 17+ rating even if it doesnât involve users at all? Want to ensure something like two in-game characters loving eachother isnât an instant 17+ rating (because frankly it makes zero sense)
Please ban romantic themes for all ages. This upsets me a lot
