Create objects to sell in the store?

Hello, how are you? I hope everything is fine.

First of all I want to say that the language I speak is not English, so if there is any problem when I express myself, it is that.

I have many doubts regarding creating objects in Roblox to sell, especially accessories.

I’m starting out on this platform, creating a game and I’m also interested in the idea of creating objects, so I’m trying to learn how to use Blender, but after reading a little about how publishing objects and so on worked, I don’t know. It’s too clear to me, since, on the one hand, I see that I have to pay, but in other places I see that I have to have premium and it’s not entirely clear to me what I have to have to be able to upload an object.

I also saw that, in the case of being a UGC (I don’t know what the difference is), I must be enrolled in a program (which I read would always be open, but when I clicked on the link, it was already closed. …), in this case, I also saw that things work a little differently.

More than anything, my simple question is, what is a ugc? What is a limited and a limited u? Can I still enroll in the ugc program? and maybe the best question… should I be thinking now about creating an object or rather finishing a game?, thank you… I know that I can probably find these questions on the internet, and I can find several things, but I can’t find them. I am completely clear and that is why I ask the question, first of all it is not my intention to bother anyone, thank you very much.

A UGC is a wearable accessory object created by anyone except Roblox’s official team that can be bought and placed on a player’s avatar. To enrol in the program, you must provide some samples of your models to the Roblox inspectors, and they will decide if you are professional enough. Enrollment opens occasionally annually. UGCs can be sold infinite times, and you get 70% of the price you place, since 30% goes to taxes.

A Limited is a wearable accessory object that can be resold on the market, unlike normal items created by Roblox or community developers.

A Limited U is a Limited but essentially rarer since all of the copies contain a code and the total available quantity is smaller.

If you are a modeller, I would suggest you take some modelling commissions on Hidden Devs or Fiverr. Wait until the UGC programs are open again and then provide enough solid samples to be selected.

Hello, thank you very much for your response, I loved it.

What is not clear to me is regarding the “limited”, can’t a UGC be one? Anyway, I understood better and honestly what interested me most was the ugc program, now I understand that it opens annually, I will have to keep an eye on it, right? Is there any area where I can read this without missing it?

On the other hand, no, I’m not a modeler, I’m honestly more of a programmer than that, but I wanted to try to see how it goes, in any case, I’ll give it a try and if something “decent” comes out, I’ll continue practicing, although knowing that there are a very large number of people, I doubt that I can be selected.

I want to ask one last question, if I make some type of model but not yet be in the ugc program, is it possible to use that object myself? Or sell it?

Thank you for everything and I’m sorry for so many questions.

You can sell assets on the creator marketplace, both script modules and models. However, doing so usually don’t make you much revenue since the vast majority of developers prefer purchasing tailored assets for their particular games. I strongly suggest you selling services for developers on Hidden Devs or Fiverr, where you can recieve reasonable amounts of compensation for your work.

ok, thanks for everything you helped me! Likewise, I was referring to in-game objects (accessories), not for developers. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to respond

For in game accessories, being a part of the UGC program is mandatory. Consider partnering with a person who is in the UGC program yet isn’t currently very active, so that you can upload UGCs on his account, but obviously, at the expense of a shared percentage of the revenue.
