I am currently working on a map for a game that is as the title says, large scaled
The map I am making is pretty detailed, not just a flat piece of land with hills here and there. But it also isn’t going to be like a hyper realistic map, sorta low poly. I want to know if there is anyway I can make a map with parts or meshes that will be efficient, and not time consuming.
Solutions I’ve tried:
I tried making a map in blender but didn’t work because the mesh wasn’t big enough. I then drew out my own map, but it took me hours to just outline the drawing.
If you have any questions, please ask in the comments.
I don’t really build anything with meshes, however using my limited knowledge, I’d recommend building the map itself (just the general terrain) with parts and then adding decoration in as meshes to fill it up.
Doing everything as a big mesh seems super complicated, and trying to everything in parts would make it look a lot less low-poly, so yeah.
Use roblox terrains for the most part. Use Blender meshes for trees, rocks, and buildings. Dont try to import the whole map from blender since the collisions will be messed up.
