I want to make a large map for my game, and by large I mean large. One that’s filled with all kinds of points of interest, unique locations, caves with secrets and enemies within, and all sorts to find an explore.
My main question is, how do I get started?
Should I plan out every hill, rock and tree and create each section of my map using terrain tools by hand, use the terrain generator to make a huge map and then spend time refining the map and adding to it, or something else entirely? Any input here is massively appreciated, thanks!
