Creator AMA (Avatars) with Enrico and Rob [June 25, 2025]

Is there any possibility of the Accessory Adjustment feature being updated to allow more flexibility in repositioning / scaling accessories on avatars?

The current maximum amount you are allowed to reposition accessories is quite restrictive, given the huge variety in body types / proportions you are able to use on Roblox. The same applies for the resizing feature, which I find especially restrictive, because while I see a reason for a maximum % you are allowed to increase an accessory’s size by, it doesn’t make a lot of sense why you arent able to shrink accessories by whatever amount you’d like. A great use case example can be seen on this bug report thread for a Roblox created accessory that is quite large on the head, but the Adjustment feature does not allow you to shrink it enough to properly fit a majority of heads on Roblox. As a UGC creator, it’s hard to create just a single version of an item that can be properly utilizied every avatar given the current Adjustment feature’s limitations.

If this topic extends to the catalog side of things, could we ever see the rest of the egg hunt eggs going limited? Many went limited a couple years ago but there’s still many which haven’t been given limited status, including Egg of Destiny (2014) & Stooge Egg (2012) and eggs more recently released.

What is the future for gears? Many gears are broken with outdated scripts.

Since Accessory Adjustment has been released, are there any plans to have re-colorable Accessories next?

When will default avatars types automatically support IKControl with proper joint constraints?

When I’ve used IKControl in the past with avatars, it would bend joints unnaturally. I heard at one of the previous RDC, or maybe an announcement post, that default Roblox avatars would automatically support IKControl with the proper joint constraints, and I have yet to see that. Any news on that?

(I’m not sure if this is the right kind of avatar question, but I thought I’d ask anyway.)

Hand-held prop items are something that a lot of UGC creators seem very excited about, to the point that we have begun to publish items like this despite there not being a first-class category for holdables yet. Also, last year, Tone talked a bit about your wishes to overhaul gears in this context.

Are there any updates you can share on how Roblox is thinking about gears/holdables?

Will there be official support for transparent avatar accessories? (using PBR transparency or classic, either works)

Hi! Will Roblox continue to make Avatar items with effects in the future or is this discontinued?
It appears that Roblox is no longer creating Avatar items with effects, the community has noticed a stop and we would like to know what happened and if this is permanent, or will this be something coming soon for UGC? Thanks Enrico and Rob!

The avatar editor is so good that I can be good for now.

Thank you for the question. For this AMA, we are only answering questions related to avatars.

Are there plans on removing harsh bundle policies such as no tattoos and extra limbs? I’ve had multiple bundles/heads of mine moderated for having appendages e.g. (eyes, mouths etc). Features like this heavily limit creator expressive freedom. Unfortunately, there no work around to this either, especially since separately uploaded appendages would not retain animation/rigging data.

From the latest AMA:

Is this confirmed? This is a very interesting feature that might be handy to make dynamics head look more like the original faces.

With this question (which I’m replying to), I also made other feature requests, but dedicated to classic heads. Thus, I was wondering if there are also any future plans of putting them all back on sale as some were taken away for public reasons. If they return, it will also help the economy of Avatar Marketplace grow as well as allow users to express themselves in unique ways.

Will roblox make old items like workclock headphones limited or bring back more items like the balckfriday 2025 sale which was one of the most successful weeks for roblox items ever ?

I’ve been struggling with falsely moderated marketplace avatars outfits, will we be able to directly appeal these? As of now, there seems to be no way of doing so and support doesn’t even have a way to properly appeal these since the share link stops existing once an avatar outfit is moderated.

Are there any plans to allow UGC creators to make accessories that include particle effects or sound?

Hello, why do bundles that support classic clothing require a decency layer? Roblox applies their own decency layer whenever a player doesn’t have clothing equipped, so there shouldn’t be a reason as to why bundles require it. Roblox’s own bundles don’t have one.

Are there plans to remove the limits on how many accessories from each accessory category users are able to equip?

This is maybe one of the most frustrating current arbitrary limitations the Roblox avatar editor has, both as a user and a UGC creator. As it stands, Roblox currently has limits to how many of each accessory type a user can wear (besides the cap of 10 total static accessories). The most limiting of these are the limits on Face, Shoulder, and Hair accessories, which you can only wear 1 of each. This has been a huge problem for years, because there are literally endless use cases for wearing multiple items from each of these categories at once (for example, a makeup face mask + a pair of glasses, a pair of shades + a bandana, a shoulder pad on each shoulder, or two different types of hair to add more volume to the other, etc etc etc). A very obvious symptom of these limitations is that a majority of the best selling Glasses in the UGC Marketplace for the last couple of years have been miscategorized in the Hat category to get around this limitation, and they still remain among the best selling accessories in the Marketplace today. Removing this limitation would get rid of the creator incentive to miscategorize, and allow much more freedom in user’s avatars.

Are there any plans to bring analytics to Marketplace Styles? This feature was recently brought to the Home page and it is difficult to see the impact that these have on accessories.
