Creator Marketplace asset moderation

Hello, I would like to ask if there is a way to prevent bans that occur due to model insertion from the Creator Marketplace (Toolbox). I feel like bans from using free models which ROBLOX itself has approved seems very unfair. Especially considering the fact that they themselves allowed said models to continue being on the marketplace after getting flagged. However, this problem only applies to models as decals can’t be hidden. A model’s preview could be hidden using “ThumbnailCamera”. From what I’ve gathered, there are ways for exploiters to include module scripts which are detected into their models that leads to the person whom inserted the model to get their account deleted. This has never been an issue before 2021 as many people played around with free models to discover studio but has since changed after ROBLOX started scanning games.

Besides the conventional “Don’t use unverified models”, are there any other way to prevent false bans from happening? There’s no way to know if a model is “poisoned” unless you insert it into your game first.

EDIT: forgot to mention that support mentioned:

“Please make sure to check the contents of the model that are present in your game to avoid future moderation action. We recommend you check all of the functions and content of scripts, models, and plugins in Studio before adding it to a game and publishing it to ROBLOX site.”

Based on the above statement they’re asking us to check the functions before even inserting the models???

PS. Asking since i met that fate and don’t see a chance to regain my account.

There’s really nothing you can do. Roblox sees developers as fully responsible for the security and content of their games. It doesn’t matter if you’re in team create and someone else inserts a bad model, it matters that you own the game it’s put into. Roblox’s zero-tolerence/no chance of appeal for bad models in a game(even if they were accidentally put into a game) is really unfair

If I may ask, How long has this been an issue? (I’ve only found out about it last year)

And does this mean developing on ROBLOX is extremely risky now? considering there are “poisoned models” which could get your account deleted without actual chance for appeal. I haven’t seen anything like this in the 10 or 11 years of which I’ve been on this platform.

I can’t give a clear timeline(as it’s not something that personally occurred to me, only something I frequently hear), but I’ve heard that back in 2020 the issue didn’t necessarily exist. Roblox at the time, was allegedly capable of seperating the creator of the game from the troublemaker, but that isn’t how it is anymore.

No. Not necessarily. If you don’t use team create or publish updates with the models themselves included, you’d be able to insert them into studio and check them out without problem.

Thanks for the replies. They gave me some insight to the problem. I suppose using alts to develop on might be a plausible temporary solution.

and regarding this i did make sure to delete the model before pressing save to roblox. Didn’t publish to roblox though.

I agree, we really don’t have a way to check models before we insert them into our experiences. I made the same mistake, where I used a “Poisoned” model, deleted it, and after 2 minutes my experience got content deleted, and shortly after my account deleted.
