The information about the co-developer isn’t alleged by the way, although I think it’s “unfair” to assosiate the old development team with the new one.
I could also someone see why Qwelver kept the co-developer on the team for so long, assuming she didn’t know what he really did and likely got lied to by him. If your friend was outed as a problematic person, you’d wan’t to trust them, especcially if people calling out your friend were doing it in a way that wasn’t really good.
I don’t think we should dogpile on Qwelver for the situation (especcially as much as people do now, months after everything happen.) Is it fair to critize Qwelver for having someone like that on her team? Yes! I do think she couldn’t done more earlier. But should we bring it up everytime something related to Dandys World (and less Flavor Frenzy) appears, months after everything happen? No. Qwelver (and her team) has even made the effort to remove his work entirely, reworking models and animations he made.
For context I play Dandys World, mainly just for inspo for my own game and I like it’s progression (research/toon collecting), but I don’t like how critical people are on the game on small things or things out of the developers control.
A game targetted towards kids gets popular among kids? Shocker! That’s also just destructive critism, theres nothing to add (Infact I think Dandys World is leagues better than alot of other games for a younger audience)
Why don’t people comment on how they feel about the game and actually play it instead of just judging it based on public perception.
I wish people had more constructive rather than destructive critisms, but hey, that’s me.
Spreading misinformation isn’t having an opinion, it’s just spreading misinformation.
