“Volunteer work” is usually reserved for developers who strive to develop for a passion in a certain genre (in this case SCP). If you want to attract volunteers, I suggest you start with changing your title to make it more apparent that you’re hiring people with this aim.
Games come and go, by the tens, by the hundreds, by the thousands. A game serves zero interest to potential employees unless you WOW us. Wowing comes in two ways: paying your developers a good salary, or as I mentioned above, inviting developers to build for a genre they are passionate about. Your two routes are to put up nice salaries OR to present to us some amazing idea that we cannot resist working for.
Note: These are my opinions, not dictations, I’ve been here for a while and this is the advice I can give.
Not many people are going to “volunteer” if you’re not paying up-front. Sorry to say it but, games fail and there’s no telling if your game is even going to make money so saying you’ll give a salary once the game starts making money is risky.
Hey i’m a pretty experienced animator. I will work for you under the condition that I get a good amount of recognition for my work, and a respected level within the game.
