Went to join my newly published, CSG Streaming enabled place, and found one of the monsters CSG data mixed up with one of the guns. This wasn’t happening before the Streaming update. To make sure this wasn’t somehow an exploit, I went into Edit mode and found the Behemoth model (the affect model) is in fact mixed up with the gun model.
Video of the encounter:
Summary:
Attached are both the proper and inproper models and the gun model for debugging
Also what do you think of the Behemoth’s monster design? Definitely inspired, outlined by the L4D tank but didn’t try to match it.
It means, for instance, if you rename a .png to a .txt for instance, then you’ll open it in notepad instead of paint, and the filters would prevent paint’s Open… dialog from seeing it. Like any other case of renaming, the file’s contents are totally unaffected.
Copy it and rename the copy if it still bothers you.
This has happened to me also in a way. Some of the CSGs in my place are “corrupted”, they have dissapeared. They are still “there”, but they are invisible and have no collision. It also won’t let me seperate them.
No, the consequences of doing that are too risky for me. Still hoping for CSG compression though. It’s attached in the original post and here now

The bad news is that your child data is missing for the Behemoth model and the ChildData key it references does not exist. I’m not sure how this has happened and would need to know more about the history of the model and if you built it on a test site. You can still publish it as a CSG asset if you edit the field with unique strings.

~Didn’t know you replied until now, hence this post’s lateness~
What would be some of the details that you need to know about the history of the model? I didn’t build it on the test site, I knew that there was a restricting condition to building it on the test site, somewhere around the CSGs not saving, so I never tested or played with CSG during the test site period of it, I waited until it came out to use it.
CSG Streaming may have broken a 5 month project: Here’s something that may help find what happened to this missing child data
The behemoth CSG data is really old, I made it as soon as CSG came out, don’t know the exact dates though, but that’s how far back. I was eagerly waiting for CSG so I used it asap. I uploaded a game that uses mainly CSG for its models, CSG’s that I made also as soon as CSG came out. And mostly all seem to have missing child data too. However, not all the models are like this. There’s a pattern, only the really old CSG models have gone crazy, the new ones remain fine. The models were not like this before I uploaded, so this is due to the CSG streaming.
A lineup of all the monsters after uploading the game, they use CSGs that were made as soon as the feature came out. (and note: this is not how they’re supposed to look like at all, they’re all glitched)
Up close of the monsters.
This has also happened to the guns that also use CSGs that were made as soon as the feature released.
Though I can remake the behemoth monster, I can’t remake all these monsters (27) and gun models (30+)… Any way for this to be fixed?
However, thanks to the heavens, I saved the file to another place on my computer before I uploaded the place. So I have a version of the uploaded place without all the crazy mesh mix ups. Do you need that? I assume the original place file has all the missing “child data references”.
Something is definitely screwy with the recent CSG changes.
When I first tried out CSG I would never have any problems with things being impossible to de-unionize. As long as something managed to unionize in the first place everything was fine. However looking at this place I was recently working on:
Several of the CSG unions involved have their child data missing now, and I wasn’t doing anything particularly different than when I had worked with CSG when it first came out.
Is this still a problem for you? If so, can you give detailed steps to repro this actually happening. I can’t see what’s wrong on your attached models.

The behemoth model, the model in my original first post, is no longer a problem- I re-modeled it to look normal again and not a mess of pistols. There’s a new problem made by this glitch on a much worse scale though, it’s my latest post ^ on here (not this one), where over 40 models are affected by this mesh-mixture glitch.
You can repro this mesh-mixture glitch by
opening this attached place in Studio
uploading it to any of your places on ROBLOX
You should then see, in the uploaded place, the CSG meshes of the monster models and the weapon models either mixed up with another model’s CSG meshes or absent. Some/all of the CSG meshes in weapons and monsters should look different than what they look like when the place wasn’t uploaded.
