What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
Hello! I’ve been researching on how to make my own inventory system that uses similar features to roblox’s default inventory but I want to connect it to another inventory. To put it simply:
Main Inventory (Has 3 “weapon” slots and 5 “tool” slots and the rest of the players inventory (all categorized which i already have the data saving setup)
Active Inventory (This is the inventory I’m talking about! It would display only the weapons and tools the player has equipped in their main inventory and would have a hotbar similar to roblox’s that only allows them to equip and move (which also saves the order of the 3 slots) 3 weapons or any of the 5 tools)
I’m not looking for the entire system written for me I just really want to know the best way to replicate the default inventory behavior with maybe some coding examples or some step by steps which would be insanely helpful as im not a programmer and coding is hard for me (i do understand code and can do minimal coding but this is complicated)
This is not complicated at all for an experienced scripter and you seem like a newbie so the best is actually focusing on learning rather than trying to make some something complicated and then you’ll actually be able to make it yourself without help.
I’ve experimented with coding a lot and made some stuff that works, but I’m more into the creative aspect of game design rather than coding, thus why I asked for some guidance! But, thank you for the insight! You’re right about that, I just have difficulty with coding myself (more like envisioning what to write down from scratch).
I totally disagree. Use every resource you can find. The learning never really ends.
Then try to do it on your own, loaded with knowledge of what you’re working with.
No offence, but ..
This will change that. There is a world of wealth out there.
