As a user, it is too hard to view the game sorts I want to. I currently am shown 19 different sorts on the Games page, from Popular down to Simulator.
I’d like to be able to order the sorts the way I want to. Maybe the algorithm underestimates how much I enjoy the Simulator sort, and overestimates how much I enjoy the Rthro sort. Because this ordering customization would be opt-in, this shouldn’t result in a huge detriment to user engagement.
Ideally, there would be a handle to the right of each sort, and I’d enter a “drag mode”, similar to how you’d move the position of apps on a phone’s homescreen. I could move them up or down as I pleased, and there would be an easy way to exit drag mode, as well as a button to cancel my changes before they are saved. I’d like for this to apply to the game sorts on the Home page as well as the Games page.
If a new sort were to be added, it could be inserted at whatever position Roblox wants, but there could be a button next to it for the user to indicate that the user is not interested in this category. Clicking the button would result in the sort being sent to the bottom of the page.
This change would empower users by giving them minor control over the blackbox algorithms that control game discovery, and at very little cost.
