Working on a game called Cycle of Light currently. The aim of the game is to prevent the world (called The Veil) from dying down. This is done by activating beacons that restore light to the areas. Along the way, the player meets different NPCs with different views on whether the world should be saved. This is because lots of the area are beyond repair, and activating beacons can damage it more.
Criticism-wise I would say you should add a bit of easing to the screenshake (not an insane amount just a slightly more satisfying amount, while keeping the same effect). Also it seems the beacon of light just pops right into existence. What if it came out from the beacon, very quickly rising, instead? I think also adding some effects would be cool.
This is a big if since I really don’t know the gameplay of your game, but what if everything is desaturated (using color correction) and slowly transitions to being normally saturated once the beacon is activated, rather than the ground color fading from black?
Otherwise interesting idea but it doesn’t look really clean or satisfying to be honest. Turning on beacons should feel rewarding, it seems pretty lackluster in its current state.
