Daily Rewards and Extra Currency Weekend 2.0

Greetings! I have a new idea for daily rewards that I believe should be implemented in all of Roblox. What if instead of you being rewarded just for joining the game, you have to play a match to get the reward? I would have a streak with that instead of just joining and clicking a button. I see my sister joining royale high and has a streak of just joining the game and getting free diamonds.

Now for the Extra currency weekend, I was thinking I could do something different. I recently assigned all the characters with their own birthday and Zodiac sign, what if you get extra currency if you play as a character with the Pisces zodiac sign, and a different weekend, you play as one with Capricorn.

These 2 would force players to play the game to get extra rewards. The first one is obvious, and the second is you would need to have currency to begin with in order to take advantage of the deals.

Feel free to take my idea if you believe this is a good idea or see good feedback about this.

Would this help encourage people to play the game even more? Thanks in advance!

I personally only employ login rewards (either in practice or in design) as part of encouraging users to play to earn the rest of their time period rewards but not as the sole reward. To me, it’s important to incentivise players to join first before I think about how to keep their attention.

I do think there is an advantage to requiring the player to complete an activity to get rewards for their daily/weekly/whatever but at the same time I would like the experience to be as frictionless as possible and for them to have many options to complete the full rewards for a given period. It may include claiming the login reward. I may have different or multiple login rewards running.

There’s no one solution for any experience so no design question should be approached with the angle of being palatable for every situation, but if you feel this design would be useful to encourage play for your experience, go for it. You can do some research with test versions if you haven’t launched your experience yet to see what works and what compromises you may want to make.

Sound Space’s Weekend Boost system is a very good one, and they have daily + weekly challenges that encourage the user to play game game more beyond just getting the daily reward.

I do agree partly with your thought on making the player actually play the game to get the reward.
It could do with some changes, as having the daily reward be a challenge which when first completed, gives you the usual amount of coins/xp/whatever, and can be done a set number of times a day, with the rewards dropping each time.

But the Extra Currency system could very much just be better if it were global on weekends and not tied to something random/player chosen.

I just want to find a way to encourage players to use the characters since I don’t force players to use my characters like I did back in the days.
