DataStore and OrderedDataStore Operations Failing – InternalServerError

Within the past few minutes, all DataStore and OrderedDataStore operations have begun consistently failing. This includes methods like GetAsync, SetAsync, UpdateAsync, and RemoveAsync. The error message being returned is:

DataStoreService: InternalServerError: An internal server error occurred.

This issue appears to affect Studio only both Studio and live game servers, as confirmed by other developers below.

The issue is consistent across different experiences and sessions, and nothing in our scripts has changed recently that could explain it. Right now, every request results in the same internal error, regardless of the key or operation.

Please address as soon as possible.

Same, just reported the same issue. Others are seeing it as well.

it seems to be working 50% of the time for me now

Yep - happening here too.

This issue appears to affect Studio only . So far, there have been no signs of it impacting live games or non-Studio environments. In live servers, DataStore operations seem to be working as expected.

I don’t think this stands true anymore. I am testing in live games and receiving 502 errors.

At the same time, users are likely experiencing issues in the game with players reporting outages on downdetector:

Pretty critical issue - hope this gets addressed soon.

some employee must have bumped their foot on one of the servers, not happening anymore

It’s still happening occasionally, pretty randomly.

Never mind, still happening
Maybe Grow A Garden updated, per chance?

They have ~2.5M people on, last time I checked it was something like 9M. Probably overloading the Roblox servers.

plants grow offline, datastores go offline - fun for the whole community

well isnt roblox data store built to handle alot?

it is, but to be fair to them i dont think they were expecting a game to crack 9m players; even the 2.5m its at rn is alot to handle

It’s a joke, everyone knows that if grow a garden would have updated; the entire website would be down rn

Y’all should definitely take precautions at the moment to keep your player’s data safe, even if that means telling your communities to not play at the moment at risk of potentially loosing data.

usually, we remove player loading and set the “gameplay is paused until roblox fixes itself” ui to true

Also had issues with a game saying that datas not found. status.roblox.com doesn’t help but the website where everyone reports is the most effective, becasue its the most clear sign like posted here. (This grow a garden game grows offline, why stayy online!!)

Other than that, I couldn’t manage to stay logged in. Every time I’ve opened a new roblox tab I would log out. I don’t know if it has something to do with this problem but its worth mentioning. It’s the 3rd time I logged in that I managed to stay logged in. Was scared for a brief moment though.
