This is a filtered guide that is going to inform you about basic roleplay rules and mechanics to expect in Death’s Embrace.
As soon as you enter a Permadeath Event server, you are obligated to follow these rules until a PD STAFF member specifies to be OOC.
You are responsible to follow these rules and to honor them as they are your key to stay in the game and not be purged.
Common sense is required for you to have as a player of Death’s Embrace, meaning you can make rational decisions; if you think what you are about to do is irrational, then don’t do it.
IC = In Character
OOC = Out Of Character
PD = Permadeath Event
Game Rules
-
Terms of Service
Abide by the Roblox Terms of Service, you are required to not break them. -
Accounts
If caught someone else playing “Death’s Embrace” on your account, you will be punished; multi-accounting is considered a bannable offense as users are not allowed to give others their account to play the game, instead they should go through an accepting process. -
Leaking
You are not allowed to leak information about how to obtain classes, items or tools; this game is supposed to be fun for everyone, if caught leaking anything to your friends or anyone you will be banned and the requirements for the thing you leaked will be changed. -
Bugs
You are required and obligated to report bug reports EVEN if you can’t/won’t abuse them, if caught that you knew about a bug and did not report it, you will be instantly banned with no appeal.
The full list of the Game Rules will not be specified here, but in the discord server.
Roleplay Rules
-
Stay In Character
Getting OOC during IC interactions is strictly prohibited, it should be noted that roleplaying is crucial and making OOC remarks just ruins the entire vibe of the roleplay that you might currently be having, “Roleplay now, report later.” -
Do not ignore RP
If you are playing the game, you should try your hardest to be active and mindful of others. You are required to engage in events happening around you and to act accordingly based off what’s happening or what WILL happen. Progressing your class or doing quests are not valid reasons to ignore roleplay and not engage in any type of roleplay; failing to abide by this is considered Fail RP. -
No Descendant Roleplay
Descendant roleplay is the act of dying and taking the role of the Descendant of your previous character(s), this is a flawed roleplay mechanic and it is prohibited to use. -
Character Design is not a valid incentive for violence
If you design your character as a violent person, that’s not a valid reason to assassinate someone or to kill a player, always have valid incentives to kill others to progress the roleplay; not following this is considered Random Death Match (RDM) and it is against the rules. -
No Metagaming
Metagaming is strictly prohibited aswell, metagaming (or MG) is when you use OOC knowledge and apply it IC’ly; an example of this would be John knowing Tom’s name even though Tom never gave his name to anyone, meaning the information was exchanged OOC’ly; please do not mix OOC knowledge and feelings unto IC knowledge and feelings. -
No Powerplay
Powerplay (or powergaming) is when you force an action unto another character and deem as successful no matter what it is; it is also when you attempt to do something that is un-realistic, for example, John is tied up and he tries to untie himself without any tools even though he is physically un-able to do so. -
Value your Life (or Fear RP)
Fear RP is when you fail to acknowledge fear in any situation; you are obligated to fear and honor your character’s life as this pursues roleplay further, an example of the Fear RP rule being broken is John being threatened with a weapon and John begins to run even though he’ll literally die basically disregarding his life. -
Away from Keyboard (In Major Areas)
Being AFK (Away from Keyboard) in major areas is your own responsibility, being AFK is not a valid excuse when you are in the middle of a major area and you are responsible for what happens to your character. -
Dead Men Tell No Tales
As soon as your character dies, you are not allowed to speak about ANYTHING that might hint towards it’s death; you are not allowed to hint towards any IC event OOC’ly.
This should explain most roleplay rules, reading this is required as a Death’s Embrace tester and you will be held responsible even if you did not read it.
