Decal not showing up on the other side of head

I’m working on a scarecrow dummy, and I want to give it a “patched” look (or whatever you call it) for the head. The problem is, every time Insert a decal onto a side of the head other than the front, it won’t show up.

Is there something I’m doing wrong here? I tried searching the forum, but I couldn’t find any answers.

For that you should probably use it as a texture instead of a decal.

I tried that, but the head disappears every time.

Oh, that is really weird. Are you sure that isn’t a bug?

I think it might be, but I haven’t seen anyone else experience this problem.

I the special mesh with the mesh type set to head is the problem. MeshType isn’t File so it won’t accept any textures or asset ids. You can find a head mesh, paste it in the MeshID box and then set the texture. This should work!

I figured why the texture won’t appear for other sides.

It turns out the UV map for the roblox head is intentionally designed to only show texture on the front. Probably to prevent faces from stretching.

The only workaround I can think of is to unwrap the head, upload it to studio, apply the texture, make the mesh transparent, and put it on the dummy.

Workaround
I’m gonna mark this as a solution since my problem is now solved.
