Decal Rendering Issue

When I press “Play”, the game loads up as usual. But, there’s an issue when the player spawns in, this unique face appears and I have no idea why. Basically, in a summary, there’s a deformed version of the default face, usually this doesn’t appear and I just get the default face.

The bug just occurred and happens every time I do play solo and launch studio, the place file is stored locally and doesn’t exist on the develop page.

I’ve posted a screenshot to show what I’m talking about.

Sounds like a good intro to a creepypasta. The distorted noise looks like a frowning face, too. Spooky.

I thought exactly this when I first saw this, I agree. This is perfect creepypasta material.

This made me jump when I first saw it. It looks like it got inverted and all color was just mixed up.

this is my new head cannon thanks

Can you upload the face.png texture from your ROBLOX Studio content files?

Like I stated, this is a rendering issue. This is not an image or a hoax. I also do believe that roblox doesn’t store the file on hand and just loads it from the website.

I remember the image being loaded locally, this looks like a corrupted texture file.

Following the default install directory on Windows 10, here’s where you can find the face texture for reference:

%localappdata%\Roblox\Versions\version-b599faecd378419d\content\textures\face.png (Studio)

%localappdata%\Roblox\Versions\version-066343bce2bf4218\content\textures\face.png (Player)

So, now we need to find out what caused the problem?

Yes, please upload the face here so we can determine if this is an issue of the texture being corrupted, or potentially another studio file that’s causing ROBLOX to render it incorrectly.

Here’s the face.png file, not corrupted at all.

What happens if you reinstall studio?

Just reinstalled and it went away. But, I shouldn’t have to reinstall a program because of this.

It was more than likely a file corrupted on download, and not any fault of ROBLOX’s. I guess we could verify files on install, but this happens very rarely.

The image I sent (face.png) was from the client that had this issue, so the image clearly wasn’t corrupted.
